A time for fellowship and great BBQ. We will have various teams competeing for the coveted Grace Pitmaster title for the next year. We get to partake in the spoils of battle: bristket, ribs, wings, and pulled pork!!
This day will also be our farwell to Fr. RIchard. Or as some say it, not so much a good bye as a see you later. We will miss him and his family but wish him well in this next chapter of God's Kingdom.
Information for Teams:
Teams of up to 2 people may cook chicken, pork, beef, or any side item with wood, charcoal, electric or propane to enter into the competition. The BBQ luncheon will be served following the 10:15 Eucharist on April 15th.
Cooking may be done either offsite or onsite and will need to be ready to serve no later than 11:45 a.m. the morning of the competition.
There will be four categories, Chicken, Pork Ribs, Beef and Sides. All categories will be judged based on the following five criteria: Appearance, Taste, Texture, Aroma, Creativity, and overall impression. Meat for all categories may be pre-cooked, sauced, injected, marinated, cured in any way, or otherwise pretreated prior to the competition.
Judging of the competition will be blind judging by four judges. Each team will be responsible for supplying plates and garnishments for presentation to the four judges. Judging will take place at high noon.
Please consider entering a team in the competition. This will be a time of good food and great fellowship.
