On April 20th, 2018, Grand Beginnings will be hosting The 17th Annual Children’s Fair. Occurring during “The Week of the Young Child,” this event recognizes the importance of early childhood in shaping learning, development, and future success for our very youngest community members.
The theme of this year's Children's Fair is "Making and Tinkering", what does that mean?
Tinkering is using stuff,
Making is using stuff to make stuff (that might do stuff or might just be cool),
And even further, engineering is using stuff to make stuff that does stuff!
Tinkering helps kiddos learn fine motor skills, properties of materials and tools, and the foundation of more complex problem-solving.
While making and tinkering our kiddos are developing skills such as asking questions, working with others, formulating plans, making observational drawings, measuring and recording findings, evaluating outcomes, creating diagrams, using art and construction materials, and handling real tools.
We can't wait to be Making and Tinkering with you!
