2018 GJRF Amateur Bardic Competition
A single winner will be selected from each age group of each category. Open to individuals and groups, but limited to non-professional acts. Performances will be given at (time/date) at The Royal Pavilion. Sign up sheet will be open at the GJRF Merchandize Booth 3 hours prior to start of the competition. There is a limit of 5 performances per age group per category, so that Their Royal Majesties can maintain Their strict schedule.
• 16 and Under
• 17 and Above
• Musical (vocal, instrumental, combination)
• Performance Art (juggling, magic, dance, feats of strength or skill, etc)
All acts must be family-friendly; meaning nothing of questionable content, no vulgar language, adherence to GJRF dress code, no improper gestures, etc. Acts must not be unsafe, for the performer(s) or the audience; live steel will not be allowed, in accordance with the Peace Tied Weapons rule of the Faire.
Acts are limited to 5 minutes each. One act per category per performer or group. A winner of one category cannot win in another category, but may compete in any or all categories. If a performer wins in more than one category, Their Royal Majesties will choose which category they are named winner and the other category will have the runner-up announced as the winner of the other category.
Their Royal Majesties will choose the winners of each age group per each category, in consultation with Their Retinue and honored guest judges.
