Got the day off, owe yourself a mental health day, or simply just need to spend some time investing in yourself? The answer is easy, join us for a bit of Bush Therapy!
Our mid week day walks are designed to give you that much needed break from the city, and the daily grind, and allow you the time to feel the sunshine and some fresh air. Amongst some stunning bushland scenery, you will socialise with a fantastic, and supportive, group of people who are all in need of a good old session of Bush Therapy just like yourself.
Only 40 minutes from Melbourne CBD, this walk leads around the delightful Plenty Valley Parklands and over to the unique Quarry Hills and Granite Hills where we can explore and learn about the constant battle between man and nature on the peri-urban fringes of Melbourne.
Located on the traditional land of the Wurundjeri people, this area provided numerous flora and fauna species that were used for food, medicines, the manufacture of many important cultural items, the construction of temporary shelters, and a permanent source of fresh water. Scarred trees and stone artefact scatters are evidence of the Wurundjeri peoples’ use of the area prior to European settlement.
Our midweek walks are all within 80 minutes of Melbourne’s CBD, utilising some of our sensational urban green areas and parks, as well as locations that contain some of the best day walks near Melbourne, many of which are closer to home than you realise! The walks are of a slightly shorter duration and time than our weekend walks, and they are in school term, making a quieter and more relaxing event. Walks will start at 10am to help with navigating Melbourne's traffic and potential kids drop-off. These walks are a great way to take some time out for you, getting fit and making friends in a non-competitive and encouraging environment, our walks are generally women from 30-60 and we strongly encourage men to come along. Being active outdoors has proven results in mental health and wellbeing for everyone. We provide a healthy and nutritious snack and lunch, we strongly believe that sharing food under these circumstances is what makes friends grow.
