FREE ART SHOWCASE • LOCAL ART • OPEN TO ALL!!
At it again – Green Door is thrilled to feature another artist at the shop on Friday, March 30th at 7:00pm! Lori Jackson is a local painter and sculptor known throughout the region for adding monsters to old thrift store paintings and creating three dimensional creatures in recycled ecology boxes and jars. Join us for a casual evening to meet the artist, purchase your favorite pieces, and learn more about local art! The event is free and open to all.
Lori has spent much of her life in Northwest Indiana. Having grown up in Merrillville, she commuted to Chicago to attend the American Academy of Art where she honed her artistic talents. She first started adding monsters to pre-existing paintings as a joke, but the technique quickly became a passion for hunting down unseen creatures and telling their stories. Finding inspiration from the Muppets and Dungeons and Dragons fantasy, her monsters are now beloved characters in a familiar world.
Lori’s paintings are frequently displayed at Green Door as well as the Librarium Café. She is a proud native of the region, and is delighted to be a part of the community’s development!
