On the 4th Friday of every month in 2018 I will be accepting donations ~for causes I care deeply about~ in exchange for an hour of body positive, gentle yoga. My aim for "Fourth Friday Fundraisers" are to bring awareness to and show support for different anti-oppression movements in Tucson, while spending an hour nurturing ourselves so that we can show up more fully for others (humans and non-humans alike) in our community.
April's recipient is a rescue ranch in Marana that take in criminally abused and neglected equines, as well as livestock animals, and care for them lovingly on their journey towards healing. The founder of Wild Hearts Rescue Ranch is a woman named Jessica Gray, who, with the help of her dedicated, primarily female team have been helping animals in our desert since 2012.
Come enjoy an hour of soothing yoga where we aim to release embodied trauma, reconnect with our own body's wisdom, and lean towards pleasure... while supporting sweet, innocent horses who deserve to live out the rest of their lives in peace. Think of this fundraiser class as your opportunity to celebrate ~EARTH DAY~ (April 22nd) by helping out your fellow earth inhabitants who have suffered at the hands of humans.
Visit their Facebook page: Wild Hearts Rescue Ranch for more information on the work they are doing (lots of pictures to look at!), and to get updates about future volunteer events.
I hope to see you in class!
~ Suggested donation: $5-$10.
~ BYOMat if possible (there are only a few extra).
~ Please arrive early to sign waivers and find parking, available at The Metal Arts Village Tucson or the surrounding side streets.
~ The yoga studio (Grounded Wellness) is located inside the Haunted Hands tattoo shop. It is a fairly small space that fills up quickly, so please hit the "Going" response so we can get an estimate of how class will be.
Emma Bell is a 200hr RYT and a graduate of the All Bodies Rise Yoga mentorship. Her classes include low lighting and silky tunes that encourage students to move and breathe authentically. All bodies are welcome and encouraged to lean towards what feels good to them. Follow Emma's All Bodies Rise Yoga for more information and to stay updated for future fundraisers and ongoing classes.
