Bobby Hartman

I was born August 17, 1959. I have lived my life in the central Ohio area. Music has been a passion of mine since very early in life. I sing, write songs, and play drums, guitar, and harmonica. I started singing at the age of five and began playing drums at the age of ten. I picked-up guitar at eighteen by learning from other players, but I’m largely self-taught. I began professional voice lessons in my early twenties and continued them for two and a half years. I have continued to learn about my voice every day. Also, I have been playing harmonica since my early twenties.

The Lord has blessed me with many talents and I often use them to glorify Him. I lead a music ministry at my church and play there often.

Although I have only three songs that have been copyright, I have a small library of songs that I’ve written. I am currently in the studio working on a song, which is soon on the way to the copyright offices.

I live with his wife of twenty years and our two teenage sons in Grove City, Ohio.

I play in a local band, “Street Level,” which I helped found and have played in for fourteen years. I came up with the name “Street Level” from a sign in a parking garage. Being a bit dyslexic, I soon realized that the sign actually said, “Level-Street”… well, you get the picture.

Some of the musicians I admires include Paul McCartney, Robert Plant, Eric Clapton, Paul Rogers, Johnny Cash and Michael McDonald just to mention a few.

My vision for “Street Level” is to continue playing locally and beyond, if that happens, while at the same time record the originals that me and my band members and I have written.

I have said, “I want to leave a legacy of music, even if it is just for me, my family and some close friends to enjoy.” I would now add, “I hope that others get to enjoy my music too.”
