It's the second Monday in March, so it’s MIFiberShed Workshop time! For this basic machine-sewing workshop, taught by Denise Fiegel, we'll be assembling pocketed market bags out of pieces of recycled fabric and two straps. Learn to cut out fabric with seam allowances, thread a machine, and make basic sewing-machine stitches. All materials provided (thread, pins, straps, fabric, machines). No experience necessary! Machines are limited, so please RSVP for this event; we're limiting it to 20 people total. Arrive anytime between 3 pm and 8 pm. Note that we have LOTS of great, fun, colorful fabric to choose from, including upholstery-style fabric, canvas, and denim, but we're actually now out of the polka-dot fabric used to make the bag above. Also, remember that you can come and use a sewing machine in the MakerSpace anytime during MIFiberShed hours: Monday from noon to 7pm and Saturday from 9am to 4pm.
