Get in the know with information from the latest UN climate change meeting in Germany and Chicago’s International climate summit for mayors. Hear about gender issues in climate change. Learn how global environmental problems and solutions can impact our local communities and how you can have a positive influence on the environment. Explore new ideas, resources and activities as we learn about some green living myths and journey beyond recycling with environmental and energy attorney Rebecca Boyd and environmental advocate Beth Drucker, president and co-founder of Go Green Wilmette

Presenters: Rebecca Boyd is general counsel for the Illinois Sierra Club, and a legal advisor at the University of Chicago environmental law clinic. Rebecca is pursuing initiatives in international environmental law and policy and, at the same time, bringing global awareness and solutions to our homes, communities and businesses. Rebecca was a delegate for the League of Women Voters at the 23rd UN climate change conference.
Beth Drucker has been a community leader sharing her passion for connecting individuals to nature for almost 30 years. She co-founded Go Green Wilmette and helped to establish the Consortium of Northshore Environmental Groups. Beth was instrumental in the creation of teaching gardens at Highcrest Middle School and Wilmette Junior High as well as the annual Bike to Highcrest event. Through Go Green Wilmette’s educational seminars, film showings, book discussions and their annual Going Green Matters community fair, Beth has impacted the way thousands of individuals view their role in environmental responsibility and their community.

Logistics:
This luncheon is open to the public, so please invite spouses, family members and friends.
Check-in and socializing starts at 11:30 am with lunch served at noon.
The presentation will begin at 12:15 pm.
The cost is $27 to be paid by cash or check and includes taxes and tip.

Gusto of Wilmette is located at 1146 Wilmette Ave. with ample street parking and additional public parking available behind Depot Nuevo.

Community Service: We continue to support the New Trier Township Food Pantry with donations. Please bring a food item – soup, paper goods, rice or noodle mixes.
