The History of the Kentucky Derby: Famous Horses and More!

If you love horses and horse racing, join us at the library on Thursday evening, April 5 at 6:30 p.m. and meet local Kentucky Derby enthusiast Susan Marchese, who will share her knowledge regarding the history of the Kentucky Derby and the many famous horses who have won this most prestigious race. She will show her collection of photographs and share stories about these horses including the elite few who went on to win the racing's Triple Crown.

Ms. Marchese has been following horse racing since 1958 andshe has her own notebook to prove it! She has been collecting photographs ofDerby winners for many years and she has been sharing this knowledge at nursinghomes, libraries and Senior Centers in the area. Sue is a retired RecreationalTherapist from Masonic Home and she has been pursuing her passion for tellingThoroughbred lovers about some of these famous Derby horses, and some otherswho never made it to the Derby.
