The Harkat MusicAlley is like your backyard jam session - bringing together sounds from different genres and corners of the world. The sound is indie and experimental.
It's your mixtape, only live and full of wonderful musical surprises. This time it would be all about jazz, pop, rap with a cellist and a very talented bunch of people from Second Sight.
About the band:
Second Sight was formed in late 2015, when Anusha and Pushkar met at Swarnabhoomi Academy of Music (SAM), and instantly connected personally and musically in their spontaneous jam sessions. It’s an interesting amalgamation - Anusha with her background in soul, jazz, a cappella and choral music, and Indian classical; and Pushkar deriving his inspiration from music ranging from electronica to blues and progressive rock. They incorporate all this with what they’ve learned from their professors at SAM, renowned musicians in their respective countries, and create a unique sound. Second Sight has a versatile setup and have performed as a duo, a trio (with a percussionist) and as a band with pianist Vatan Dhuriya, bassist Ralph Menezes and drummer Shivang Kapadia as well, playing original material and covering artists such as Hiatus Kaiyote, Jordan Rakei and Djavan. The sound of the band is very diverse owing to the different musical background of all the members, and ranges from singer songwriter to soul/rnb to latin music as well while still being unique to the band.
