Under the direction of Daniel Norman, Hart House Chorus will present "Standing in Unity", a concert featuring Leonard Bernstein's Mass, and works by Tchaikovsky, Freddie Mercury, and others.
Featuring soloist William Reid, accompanist David Eliakis, flutist Jamie Thomson, and percussionist Bryn Lutek.
This semester we're doing something a little outside our usual repertoire, but we think you'll love it. In 2018 we're celebrating Leonard Bernstein's 100th birthday, and we're dedicating the concert to the LGBTQ community. All of this concert's composers either identified as being gay, or are believed to have been gay even if they couldn't 'come out of the closet' during their lifetimes.
The concert is free to attend, and we will be collecting donations for The 519, a community centre at Church and Wellesley which particularly caters to the needs of Toronto's LGBTQ community.
