KIZOMBA From Angola in America:
Kizomba Dance originates in Angola, Central West Africa and became popularized gradually concurrent with the internal struggles of Angola and other PALOP countries (former Portuguese colonies) from the late 1970's through 2010. Notable is the melange of French Caribbean Zouk, a la Kassav; and, Semba music to create Kizomba Music. As the Dance moved to Europe and the Caribbean with the people and their culture, by mid 2007 the dance was becoming popular in several American cities and in Canada.

Kizomba in Hartford:
Kizomba came to Hartford in 2014, with a Debut by Kizomba Hartford 10.2014, followed by Longest Day Kizomba, 12.2014; Making Dance 1.2015 and a host of learning events consistently since the debut, including an annual spring time festival and monthly socials in Hartford and New Haven.
