Screenwriting workshop in Concept 2092.
This 5 day intensive screenwriting workshop is aimed at elevating barriers and inciting the imagination to find its way to paper.
The session will guide beginners in the field but can benefit intermediate and advanced screenwriters as well by helping them to tap into their own ever growing imagination.
The workshop is structured around written exercises, based on objects, text, poetry, music, photographs, and paintings which open up visual and emotional memory, stimulate the imagination and enable the writer to narrate in an audio-visual language.
Each class day will focus on developing the various structural tools which the screenwriter requires to write stimulating and captivating stories. The variation stimulates the writer through short lectures, selection of short films. in-class writing, and discussions.
This workshop will enable aspiring screenwriters to tap into their well of stories, to bring to the surface and the page elements which have left an imprint on you, and might very well be the reason behind your venturing into storytelling or the arts.
Many of the beginner workshop participants have then gone on to develop feature length scripts which I have also aided them in developing, in the context of script-doctoring sessions I also give.
The beginner's workshop enables us to “speak the same language” and enables me to know the writers well enough to guide them in developing their scripts, their stories, written through their very own imagery, and cinematic language.
