Meet the Joanna Furnace Villagers & Breakfast Buffet – Saturday, April 21st at historic Joanna Furnace. This free admission event starts at 7 am and wraps up at 12 noon.
Visitors can start their day at 7 am by shopping in the flea market and then enjoying the delicious Breakfast Buffet made by the Hay Creek Valley Historical Association volunteers. The buffet includes country sausage, bacon, ham, scrapple, creamed chipped beef, eggs, country fries, pancakes, waffles, fruit, toast and beverages. Cost is $9 for adults & $4.50 for children between the ages of 5 & 11. Children under five eat for free. The breakfast ends at 11 am.
Starting at 9 am guests can stroll the 225 year old ironmaking community and meet the Joanna Furnace Villagers. On staff for the day we will have the village blacksmith, moulder, storekeeper, collier, chandler (candle maker), baker and gardener. Visitors can start their tour by viewing the 22-minute Historic Joanna Furnace video to get oriented with the 26-acre site. Tours of the historic site will wrap up at 12 noon.
Vendors interested in being a part of the flea market should call the Hay Creek office at 610-286-0388 to reserve a space. Spaces can also be claimed starting at 6 am on Saturday, April 21st. Cost is $10 to participate in the flea market.
Historic Joanna Furnace is located 3 miles north of Morgantown, PA. Turn at Furnace Road. We are the first access drive on the right.
