Platforms have been used in dog training for a long time, and are a fun and accessible way to teach dogs basic positions, such as at your side for walking at heel, or to sit on while you open the door to visitors.
Dogs enjoy climbing on things from early puppyhood, and as well as being fun, the platform training offered by Paws in Wales helps dogs improve their concentration, body awareness and self-control.
Platform training easily translates into normal life as dogs learn to stay, settle and go to bed as a natural progression from the basic platform training.
For dogs training in other activities platforms help teach Obedience stays, Distant Control and Send Away and Agility start-line waits.
Platform work also develops proprioception, especially hind-end awareness, balance and stretching.
This is a light-hearted and relaxed workshop, suitable for dogs of all ages and abilities.
The Platform Workshop can be booked alone or in conjunction with Wag It! games in the afternoon.
Dogs will work together in both these workshops, so they are suitable only for friendly sociable dogs.
£24 per workshop, which includes 20% discount to celebrate the opening of Paws in Wales purpose built training barn.
