#var:page_name# cover

Join Art in Public Places for a 1-hour walking tour in Jacksonville's urban core featuring the Downtown Investment Authority's Urban Arts Project, a multi-phased, public art program that promotes community development and civic engagement through public art and urban design.

The tour will start from Hemming Plaza at the corner of Monroe and Hogan (look for the orange Cultural Council tent), and feature Phase I streetscape public art installations by Florida artists including skyway columns by Andrew Reid SHEd and Cecilia Lueza; traffic signal cabinet designs by Michelle Weinberg; functional bike racks by Lance Vickery; sculptural seating by Jenny Hager (both Lance and Jenny are Jacksonville Beach artists); and sculpture by Rafael Consuegra.

Attendees will be led into the Elbow and Entertainment District to visit the site area designated for upcoming Phase II public art installations.
