On Monday, March 19, at 7 p.m., at the Hesston Public Library, Mel Lehman and Susan Miller will share some of the unique experiences they had in January in Dubai, UAE; Muscat, Oman; and Amman, Jordan. These include conversing long into the night with two Syrian refugee families and visiting with Kendra and Lonnie Morford (formerly from Hesston) and sons in Dubai; taking a bus trip through the desert to Muscat; shopping for frankincense in the land of the Wise Men; worshiping in a standing-room-only Catholic church; meeting with Cultural Affairs officers in the U.S. embassy in Jordan; and appreciating the beauty, peaceful relationships, and histories of these Middle East countries. Susan and Mel's honeymoon trip fulfilled part of Common Humanity's* peacemaking goal of building understanding, respect and friendship with people in the Middle East and the Muslim world.
Everyone is welcome.
