For the month of April, 2018, the Hibbleton Gallery film series will explore the complex and politically-charged topic of immigration from Latin America to the United States. All screenings begin at 8pm and are free and open to the public. A discussion will follow each screening.

On April 14th we'll be showing "The Three Burials of Melquiades Estrada" (2005) directed by Tommy Lee Jones and written by Guillermo Arriaga. The film was inspired by the real-life killing in Texas of a teenager, Esequiel Hernandez Jr, by United States Marines during a military operation near the United States–Mexico border as well as the novel As I Lay Dying by William Faulkner. Also starring Barry Pepper, Julio Cedillo, Dwight Yoakam, and January Jones.
