If you feel like a good laugh and a hearty breakfast; on Sunday the 22nd of April 2018 the Village is hosting the Bush Poets Breakfast from 7:30am to 9:30am showcasing bush humour by renowned poet Noel Stallard. Noel taught in both secondary and primary schools for 35 years and spent the last 11 years performing for the Queensland Arts Council in schools across Australia and internationally in Ireland. In 2001 Noel released his first book “Chalk Dust and Bull Dust” and in 2002 won the Golden Damper Award twice for reciting Bush Poetry and for his original work. He has won awards in the John O’Brien Festival, and in 2003 took out the Australian Championship at Mulwala, this is the highest accolade for performing Bush Poetry in Australia. In 2009 Noel won the Bush Laureate award for the ‘Best Poem written for Children’ and is the President of the Australian Bush Poets’ Association.

Breakfast starts at 7:30am and finishes at 9:30am.
