Tanglefoot Track and Mt St Leonards is a truly beautiful hike that takes the Western side of Mt Tanglefoot. Such a variety of forest types, but highlights are the Mountain Ash and Myrtle Beech, plus dense areas of ferns.
We begin with a gradually climb for about 1km. You’ll reach a junction after about 1.2km, until reaching Monda Track Carpark area after roughly 8km. We will pass through some very picturesque moist gullies. A worthwhile extension to the track is to head up Mt St Leonard via the access road. This will take us to the tower for some morey fantastic views around the area.
From here we return back the way we came via the Wirrawilla Carpark and then the Myrtle Gully Track. The Myrtle Gully Track is lined by some dense ferns and is quite a pretty segment.
