The Sioux Falls Area Chapter of the USD Alumni Association invites you to join us for this month’s USD Lecture Series featuring former U.S. Senator and USD Alumnus, Larry Pressler, Class of 1964.
This lecture will focus on Larry Pressler’s door-to-door, shaking hands campaign that won him the 1974 campaign. He challenges young people, women, and all citizens to run for office at any level. He plans to inspire all to do just that. Senator Pressler has this to say:
"My speech will be on how to run for office in South Dakota. If you're going to become a teacher or a farmer or whatever, you may well be called to be on the school board, the state legislature, or even the U.S. Senate. In South Dakota, an average person can still become a candidate for office. My speech will be based on my 1974 low budget campaign and will lead into today's discussion of running for office in 2018.”
There is no cost to attend this event and all alumni and Sioux Falls area residents are welcome.
There will be a brief social hour 30 minutes before the lecture and a book signing to follow. His works can be found and ordered online.
Hors d’ oeuvres and refreshments will be provided.
