The Big Hat Fantasy Extravaganza is hosted by Mens Chorus of the Ozarks as a fundraiser and friendly comeptition for multiple nonprofits. Commercial Club's entry, pictured above, is a lighted, mohawk-style footbridge hat which was designed and constructed by Christine Schilling and Mary Collette to call attention to and create a fun activity that can raise funds for our Jefferson Avenue Footbridge restoration.
Votes are $1 each and can be made online by pasting the event url into your browser: bighats.ozarkschorus.org. You can see the other nonprofits participating in the competition. Whichever hat gets the most votes also gets a small percentage of everyone else's votes so please vote today and tomorrow and tell your friends to do the same!
Nigel Lee is modeling our hat as he will be on Sunday, April 29 at the culminating runway show and celebration of the winning Big Hat at the Old Glass Place. The Frisco Engineer Coat and jacket were loaned to us courtesy of Cathy Rippee's family. It belonged to longtime Frisco Engineer and cherished Woodland Heights neighbor Erich Pinkney Rippee. Erich was Cathy Rippee's (owner of C-Street Boutique) grandfather. He represents the spirit of our area as he was always helping fix kids bikes and neighbor's cars.
