Award-winning folk singer and songwriter Claire Dacey will perform two sets, 6 pm & 7 pm, at Historic Northampton during April's Arts Night Out. A seasoned musician, she writes and performs original songs, many of which are similar in sound and style to the legendary female folk singers of the 60’s and 70’s.
Claire, who is also a naturalist and artist, has performed at the Iron Horse Music Hall, the Academy of Music in Northampton, Luthier’s Co-Op and Arcadia Wildlife Sanctuary in Easthampton. She is working on a new album with Anand Nayak, a member of the band Rani Arbo & Daisy Mayhem.
Her performance is in conjunction with the current exhibition, Single Room Occupancy: Portraits & Stories from Northampton Lodging, 1976-2016, by Cassandra Holden and Paul Shoul will be open from 5 to 8 pm.
The event is free, but donations are welcome and all proceeds will benefit local non-profits serving those in need.
