We are now offering Power Yoga, a “yang” style class to balance out our more “yin” style studio. In this class, Marti encourages students to test their limits and find their growth edge in their yoga practice. She believes that we are stronger than we sometimes feel, and that when we endure the difficulties it makes us that much stronger. Challenging ourselves helps to build our confidence in our capabilities. This class is still open and amenable to beginners but it should be understood that it will feel a bit more difficult.
Generally speaking, yoga is a balance between effort and surrender. Within each class there are elements of challenging movement and self compassionate stillness/rest. Both are important to whole health and wellness. Additionally, counter to culture, yoga is about cultivating balance. It encourages that students seek classes that are opposite to their general nature. For instance, if someone runs high energy or anxious, a slower paced class is actually better for that student as it brings balance to their energetic system. And visa versa- if a client runs low energy and has difficulty with motivation a faster paced more challenging class is what would cultivate balance in that student’s life.
Our classes are primarily yin because our society runs yang.
But when it comes down to it, yoga is about paying attention to what is right for you. So check out all of our classes and join the ones that resonate with you and/or fit your needs.
Beginners welcome! Yoga mats are provided.
We encourage students to register and pay online ahead of time. If you purchase credits and sign up, these credits will not be deducted until you actually check-in at the studio. If you are unable to purchase your pass ahead of time, please arrive 10-15 minutes early so that the teacher has time to check everyone in. This allows for a peaceful transition into your practice and the teacher to start the class on time.

Marti's Yoga Story:
Born and raised in Bismarck, ND, Marti moved to Texas in 2006. Marti and her husband Kyle expanded their family in 2010 with the addition of their first son, Jackson. She was a stay at home mom and was looking for a way to get active while with the baby so she took up running with Jackson in a jogging stroller. After running for some time, she started a half marathon training program. It called for cross training so a friend suggested yoga. She instantly fell in love with not only the way it made her feel physically but the way it calmed her mind.
In September 2014, after practicing yoga for less than a year, Marti began her 200 hour yoga teacher training at Flow Yoga with Kat McCool and Erinn Lewis. Shortly after graduating from teacher training, Marti became pregnant. Now a mom to three boys, she struggled to find time for her personal yoga practice so she began to practice with her boys. Marti’s goal is to share the gift of yoga, especially with other moms, to help them calm their minds and find joy in day to day life.
Marti resides in Plugerville with her husband, three boys and two chocolate labs. When she is not practicing or teaching yoga you can find her running, working out, or reading.
