Escape from the stress of the semester for ECP's annual retreat to Holy Cross Monastery (fb.com/holy.cross.west.park/ + holycrossmonastery.com), an Anglican Benedictine monastic community in West Park, NY (apx 2.5 hrs from Princeton).
Nestled in the arresting Hudson River Valley, this serene community is a wonderful place to step away, pray, nap, engage in meaningful conversation with friends, enjoy some quietude, or even catch up on reading and homework.
The intentionally unstructured retreat time is entirely yours to do whatever want to do: join the monks in their daily rhythm of prayer and Eucharist, go for a walk around the beautiful grounds down to the Hudson River, stay in your room and read a book or journal... it's completely up to you.
This year, we will have an opportunity to engage one of the brothers in a Q&A about monastic life in the Anglican Communion (so you can ask whatever you always wanted to ask a monk!).
ECP is underwriting the expense, so the cost is only $40/person (or whatever you can afford). All meals are included (let us know if you have any dietary restrictions).
We will carpool up together and back, renting a van as needed.
When you RSVP, please indicate a) whether you *have* or *need* transportation and b) what time you can leave Fri and need to return Sun.
RSVP directly to Fr Joseph (FB DM, firstname.lastname@example.org). You can either pay in cash or make a check out to "The Episcopal Church at Princeton."
**Space is limited and spots tend to go quickly**, so don't delay if you're interested!
