Developed by our founding teacher and mentor Sam Weinstein this training will be facilitated by his teachers who will guide you week by week through all the foundations of Transformational Alignment Based Yoga (T.A.B.Y.)

We are a traditional yoga school running for well over 35 years so you can feel at ease knowing your teachers have the long term experience of our school to take good care of you and give you a solid foundation on which to build your ongoing yoga practice.

The core teachings of the course are taught in the “Essentials for Beginners" classes held every Saturday at 10am and Wednesday at 5.30pm. Wednesday is a repeat of the Saturday class so you can come to just one or both.

On top of our Essential Classes you receive access to 15 foundational 'TABY' classes weekly plus a bonus Restorative yoga class, a great deal for $95. These classes are open to all our students and give you the opportunity to get to know our community and discover a routine of attendance that works for you.

At the end of your training we will consult with you on the best way to transition into a routine where you can receive all the benefits of regular yoga practice to suit your individual needs.

All classes are taught in an authentic way, with a laugh or two as well, to help you lighten your load. Our teachers and facilitators have trained through an extended mentorship and teach with a practical ability to adapt poses to suit your needs balanced by compassion and presence.

We teach the concept of only going to your edge in all the postures and how to use yoga props to support you in poses. All Yoga classes begin and finish with instruction of skills on learning how to calm, breathe and relax.

This current training will be facilitated by Nada and Stefani who have studied extensively with Sam over past years and have recently returned from India with assistance form other teachers who may join from time to time.

A little more information about our Essentials For Beginners 6 Week Course:

Students are taught the foundations of Transformational Alignment Based Yoga The syllabus has an emphasis on simple techniques to engage in postural alignment and discover your own personal alignment in poses. By finding and understanding alignment you will come to a deeper space in the poses and be less likely to stress the body in poses before it is ready. No pose is worth an injury and alignment is one way to prevent injury.

Each week we Introduce new postures with all their details and what Yoga props to use and review the poses you have learned so far and.

You also receive on booking an information pack by email and ongoing mentoring available to you over the duration of the training by Sydel Weinstein co-founder of the Home of Yoga and senior yoga teacher.

This is a tremendous opportunity to receive valuable support and mentoring from teachers with a depth of experience and understanding.

What is Transformational Alignment Based Yoga (T.A.B.Y.)?

T.A.B.Y is a form of Hatha Yoga

T.A.B.Y. is suitable for all students of yoga from beginners to experienced. T.A.B.Y supports students to develop understanding of the benefits of alignment, sequencing and longer timings.
This allows for the introduction of how to work with basic and more challenging poses alike. Alternative poses are always offered for any poses student might not feel ready to try. Emphasis is always still placed on only going to your personal limit in all poses and finding your own personal alignment. A deeper yoga for everyone!

Who is Sam Weinstein your Course Creator?

Sam taught yoga for 42 years. His first mentor was the yoga legend of consciousness Pujari of 70’s San Diego California, launching Sam on his path of yoga and consciousness. After Sam completed Pujari’s 3-year yoga teacher training he went on to India to Study with B.K.S. Iyengar in India. He started teaching at a very young age and taught over 18,000 classes over decades of devoted teaching.

A near death experience deepened his yoga journey and understanding of the human body as well as grounding his practice in compassion. Sam was known for truly caring about each and every student and for his incredible depth of knowledge and experience.

Sam’s love has been to develop a teaching style called Transformational Alignment Based Yoga. A merging of detailed Iyengar method, simple hatha yoga, flow, and therapeutic. Stretch, breathe, sweat, laugh, a tear or a smile. Geared to all levels emphasizing, “only go to your edge”.

Our beginner’s course is an expression of the love and care that Sam put into his teachings that we now share with you.
