Learn how to start seeds indoors so you get healthy, strong seedlings for your garden. Don't waste time growing starts that will not produce for you! Don't waste money on fancy seed-starting gimmicks.

We will discuss what to start your seeds in, what kind of soil to use, how to prepare it, what to plant when, and how to take care of them. After a demo, you will plant a tray of mixed vegetable seeds to take home.

This class is part of our Green Thumb Series, a season-long course designed to help you grow and eat more of your own food with less work! Sign up for the whole series for more continuity and save money!

Saskia Esslinger is a Permaculture Designer and teacher who once spent an entire year eating only Alaskan food, most of which she grew on city lot in Anchorage.
