FRIDAY APRIL 13: To Celebrate National Poetry Month, our former Colorado Poet Laureate, CC professor David Mason, will read from, discuss and sign his newest book of poems, THE SOUND, in a champagne with appetizers book launch, 5:30 to 8 pm,, Friday, April 13 at Hooked on Books, 12 E. Bijou.
David is well known for his statewide work as Colorado's Poet Laureate, (2010-2014), and his book, Ludlow, on the Ludlow massacre, plus earlier poems in Sea Salt. Noted poet Anthony Hecht said of David, "A welcome addition to the best that is now being written by American poets." David has 16 books to his credit and his work appears in national and international literary journals and poetry magazines.

SATURDAY APRIL 14: Bookmaking artist Marsha Sterling will teach a Concertina Album journal-making workshop, 9:30 to 11:30,Saturday, April 14, at Hooked on Books, 12 E. Bijou. Cost $26, call 419-7660 to register. Participants will fold, sew, and bind together a 3-section book with a pocket in the back. This Concertina Album journal is great for writing, photos, painting, travel notes. No experience necessary.
SATURDAY PARKING: Easy $1 all day parking in the Cascade city garage right around the corner from HOB. Also after 4pm weekdays.
