President Trump has formally requested a three-year extension of trade promotion authority, giving Congress a three-month window to block renewal by passing a resolution of disapproval.

With ongoing negotiations to update and reform NAFTA, and the President planning to impose tariffs on aluminum and steel and undertake additional enforcement measures to address Chinese thefts of intellectual property, WITA will host an expert panel to discuss the role of Congress in regulating commerce with foreign nations.
