This is a one day lecture/presentation:
This is a two-and-a- half hours including a fifteen minute break.

COURSE OUTLINE
We will look at lives of CS Lewis, Virginia Woolf, Daphne Du Maurier and Ernest Hemingway with particular focus on where they lived and their surrounding environment. How did their locations influence their work?
We will also look at the writers’ daily routines and interests.
We will consider the impact of the writers’ interests and environment on their writing.

PLANNED LEARNING OUTCOMES
By the end of this course, students should be able to:
Have an increased awareness or understanding of the nature of works written by CS Lewis, Virginia Woolf, Daphne Du Maurier and Ernest Hemingway.
Have an increased knowledge of the writers’ surrounding environment, daily routine and interests.
Have an increased awareness of the impact of the writers’ interests and environment on their writing.
