Subtle Body Immersion Weekend with Karla & Shelagh
‘Feeling the Rainbow ‘
20 hour Immersion as part of the 80 hour Adventure Yoga Immersion.
This weekend only is offered as a stand alone experience for those not on the Immersion.
The focus of this weekend will be around the 7 main energy centres, the Chakras. Connecting to chakra energy on an experiential level is the only intention for the weekend.
Karla & Shelagh have designed a weekend of Asana Practice, Pranayama, Meditations & Visualisations to guide students to feel their energy bodies in an experiential way. This work is only relevant to you if you have an experience of it, and the teachings of the Subtle Body are so vast that having a direct experience yourself is the most valuable understanding! While we could read and read about the Subtle Body Realms and ‘know’ all there is to know with our mind about them, experiencing them is of course a subtle, but also highly personal journey.
Over the weekend we together will guide you to facilitate the connecting/more embodiment and trust of your innate subtle awareness. This weekend is for you to remember, experience and trust your own subtle awareness and intuition.
Subtle energy is all around us, all the time (and we have our own inner attunement to it) so our weekend will offer you a doorway to experience it more in your daily lives.
What we will cover
Asana practice will focus on awareness of energy and study of the nadi’s (meridians in Chinese medicine) and the Koshas (sheath’s).
Meditation, pranayama and physical practice all centring around connecting to and experiencing the subtle body, specifically the nadis and chakras, and how it relates to different aspects of our lives.
We will have time for conversation, personal journaling and even a powerpoint presentation or two to satisfy our intellectual minds!

About your teachers..
Shelagh Sutton MA, E-RYT is a yoga teacher, teacher trainer, shaman and flower essence practitioner. Based in Hook Head, Co. Wexford, she teaches subtle body yoga in her small yoga studio, Satma Yoga, and is founder of the Prenatal Yoga Training Centre.
A self-confessed learning addict (a fancy way of admitting she's a nerd!), Shelagh holds a range of qualifications and has studied in a variety of disciplines, including philosophy, nutrition, business management, and Andean shamanism, each contributing to the richness of her yoga experience in some way. She trained with YTTC and went on to train as a yoga teacher trainer. She is grateful to the wonderful teachers she has had the privilege of studying with, including Sri Andrei Ram (Self Realisation Immersion), Shiva Rea, Shantimurti Okan (Yoga Nidra Certification; Prana Vidya; Awakening Kundalini), Uma Dinsmore Tuli and Veronica Larsson (Subtle Body Anatomy and Yoga Energy Medicine).
Subtle Body yoga has a special place in Shelagh's heart as it had profound and lasting effects on her life. Struck with a mysterious illness 5 years ago, initially she was largely bedbound. Out of necessity, she focused on withdrawing, meditating and slowly learning the art of self care. She then discovered Veronica Larsson's Subtle Body & Yoga Energy Medicine and studied with her over the last few years. She was later diagnosed with Lyme disease but through subtle body yoga and shamanic work, deep and thorough healing came and her well-being was completely transformed.
Shelagh strives to serve others with deepest respect and compassion. In her teaching, her enthusiasm, warmth and sense of humour shine through. She aims to create a nurturing space of non-judgement, encouraging participants to connect to their perfect and beautiful inner wisdom, and welcoming whatever it is that needs expression to come to light.
Karla Kelly, MA E-RYT 500 is a yoga teacher and the founder of House of Yoga Waterford Studio.
Since 1998 she has been as student and explorer of the subtle realms especially the 7 main energy centres - the Chakras. House of Yoga Waterford’s logo is a depiction of these 7 centres as they are related to different parts of the body.
A single parent aged 23 she searched for spiritual resources to support her during her return to college and found Buddhism in 1999. This discovery and a sudden move to the UK propelled her into a full life of working, motherhood and study and practice of sound healing, core process psychotherapy and a steady path to stability and happiness before she moved back to Ireland ten years ago to be closer to family. In the UK Karla trained in breath work, massage, and sound healing and on return got serious about her years of yoga practice. Her real healing journey began when she decided to ‘sync’ her mind and heart more into her body and train as a yoga teacher. She has taught full time since 2008/9. She opened House of Yoga Waterford in 2013 as she began advanced yoga training in the Yoga Room in Dublin.
Karla has worked with Veronica Larsson (Subtle Body Yoga & Yoga Energy Medicine) as part of this advanced training and has studied worked with her since, hosting her every year since the studio opened 5 years ago. Most recently House of Yoga Waterford hosted Veronica in a 4 weekend Subtle Body Immersion attended by Yoga Teachers & teacher trainers from all over the country. Karla believes that Veronica’s work creates deep integration and understanding of mind body and spirit and feels more able and willing to experience new insights each time.
For Karla, personal challenges have been the main inspiration in this pursuit of all things healing. However, her biggest resource for happiness outside of her personal practices has always been House Music :-) Yoga training inspired a journey of gentle self discipline & she used house music to focus her busy mind into her breath and heart during her daily practice.
From this she was inspired to create House of Yoga, a practice she has shared in yoga studios, music festivals, schools and workplaces.
Our yoga teachings tell us that breathing techniques (pranayama) are the bridge between the subtle body and the physical body. Over the past 10 years Karla has developed the HouseofYoga technique of balancing the breath with the beat in group settings and as a personal daily practice. In our busy modern world with our busy expanded minds Karla has found this resource of balancing breath, beat and asana to be hugely beneficial in her teaching, practice and work. Her chakra wifi logo has evolved this past year as a metaphor for ‘attuning’ from own personal internal wifi (my house) in relation to the wifi of the larger world (House) outside. Karla’s exploration and interest in the inner world/outer world relationship deepened in this past year as part of her training with her teacher Thomas Hubl and the Pocket Project.
This is the second year Karla and Shelagh have together offered this as part of the Adventure Yoga Immersion and they are excited and delighted to support Stephen Ewashkiw in offering this ‘experience’ of Subtle Body Yoga again as part of the second year of the Adventure Yoga Immersion.
