Throughout history, "great men" have written some of our most important works — histories, novels, poems, plays — but are they really all that great? Drunk Education (the event formerly known as Drunk TED Talks) returns to poke holes and deflate the egos of even more writer men. Some roasts will be loving, some will be scathing, but no one will escape untouched. This time, The Point Magazine joins Drunk Ed to focus on "political comedy." What is it? Why is it? Do we really need it now, more than ever? Featuring:

Karen Chee on George Orwell
Eve Peyser on Andy Borowitz
Adam Valen Levinson on Jonathan Swift
Rachel Wiseman on Kafka

Housing Works Bookstore Cafe is a social enterprise and event venue that raises money to support Housing Works’ lifesaving services for people living with HIV/AIDS in New York City and its political advocacy work to end AIDS as an epidemic in New York State by 2020, in the United States by 2025, and worldwide by 2030. We use great books, great drinks, and great creative programs to make sure all new Yorkers get adequate healthcare, including housing, regardless of their income, HIV status, gender, sexuality, or race.
