HUSD Is offering a dynamic Financial Education Seminar series this Spring, "Equipping Pastors and Leaders--Financial Stewardship for 21st Century Ministry" The program's goal is to encourage theological schools to study and enhance their financial and educational practice to improve the economic well-being of future ministerial leaders, their congregations, ministries, and to combat the rising debt levels of seminary graduates.
Saturday April 7th - Topic: Investor Education and Investor Protection
This session covers investor education for individual and church investments. This session will also include a presentation on affinity fraud and financial exploitation which includes an overview of recent financial fraud cases involving religious institutions. The US SEC will also present the role that it plays in providing oversight over financial markets.
April 14th - Topic Financial Planning for Pastors and Congregations and Minister and Pastoral Retirement Plans
The session will cover the practical application of personal money management concepts, such as credit, budgeting, establishing financial goals, risk management (Insurance), saving and investing, retirement planning and estate planning.
