The Howland Public Library is pleased to present Between the Lines, the third annual exhibition of student artwork from the Beacon City School District. A reception for students and teachers will be held on Saturday, April 14th from 2-4pm. The exhibit will be on view in the Community Room April 8th through 26th.
The library is happy to be partnering again with the Beacon City Schools to showcase the creative work of our community’s youth. This annual exhibition features a selection of artwork from Beacon High School, Rombout Middle School, Glenham Elementary School, J.V. Forrestal Elementary School, Sargent Elementary School, and South Avenue Elementary School. The exhibition was organized with assistance from Claudine Farley, District Art Department Coordinator and art instructors; Allison DeLisi, Sallie Farkus, Mark Lyon, Sergio Perez, Cathy Pezzo, Edmund Trad, and Susan Wurtz. The exhibit is just a small sample of the amazing work being done by students of all ages throughout the Beacon City School District. Refreshments for the student reception provided by the Friends of the Howland Public Library.
This year, in addition to the student work on display in the Community Room Exhibit Space, the four BCSD elementary schools collaborated to create “Under the Sea” inspired art that will be displayed in the windows of 307 Main Street.
The Howland Public Library is located at 313 Main Street in Beacon, NY. The Community Room is open during regular library hours.
