The election for the Howland Public Library Board of Trustees and the library budget vote will be held on Tuesday, April 17, 2018, from NOON – 8 PM at the Howland Public Library, 313 Main Street, Beacon. All registered voters in the Beacon City School District are eligible to vote. Absentee ballot applications are available at the library’s front desk.
Public library trustees are elected officials who hold the Library in trust for the Beacon City School District service area. Library trustees are responsible for the fiscal health of the Library and for insuring that the Library facility meets the needs of the community. Trustees are not paid for their service.
There are two vacancies on the Howland Board of Trustees. Both vacancies are for five-year terms. Details on the vote and the budget can be obtained at the Library.
Trustee Candidate Running for Election 2018-2019
Arabella Champaq Droullard has been an avid reader her entire life. The Howland Public Library has become a cornerstone of our community and this inspires her tremendously. Arabella earned a Master’s degree in Science from University of Massachusetts Medical School Graduate School of Nursing, and has worked in acute care, research, and education. She has served on the Board of Directors for a non-profit organization in the past, and has an understanding of the effort required.
