#var:page_name# cover

Mission: The 4th Annual Upper Midwest Queer and Trans Indigenous People and People of Color (QTIPOC) Conference seeks to mobilize our communities’ deep commitment to centering the expertise, identities, vulnerabilities, lived experiences, and leadership of those most impacted by the social, political, economical, and structural injustices against our communities. Our mission is to create a revolutionary loving and learning space where we can celebrate our struggles, rediscover our magic, and thrive together.

Purpose: To cultivate knowledge exchange, best practices, and education through our radical presence and existence, arts, discussions, personal narratives, workshops, and keynote speakers and ensure vital space is held for us to build community and uplift one another during these critical times we live in.

Vision: To build a brave world of self determination and deep commitment to each other and the land, where we are liberated, heard, and fruitfully supported to get what we want, when we want, and where we want.

We recognize the cultural, personal, and political significance of smells and scented practices in our communities and daily lives. We also know that, many people have adverse reactions (e.g., allergies, asthma, and other medical conditions) to chemicals and scents. We understand that scents can inhibit people from participating in this conference. In an effort to be responsive to this, we ask that all conference attendees join us in the following:
- Use unscented hair and body products
- Refrain from using cologne and/or perfume
- Air out dry-cleaned clothes before wearing
- Use low-odor or no-odor markers (i.e. no Sharpies); We will be providing non-toxic, low-odor whiteboard markers

- Front entrance and all workshops have access routes with no steps (i.e. wheelchair friendly)
- Passenger Elevator access to all floors of the conference.
- Workshop rooms do have florescent lights
- A quiet room will be available throughout the conference as a space to nap/ rest with low lighting.
