Necessary Tomorrows is a monthly art series created by resident curator Sharayna Christmas, that features work from local artists who complement the vision and mission of Ida B's Table.
As we move into the 4th show in April, we examine different interpretations of rebirth. As James Baldwin said, "The rebirth of the soul is perpetual." "Rebirth" will feature the work of three visual artists: JaMar Jones (filmmaker), Mike Ragland (designer/painter/tattoo artist) and Kirby Griffin (cinematographer). The opening reception will also feature a short film by Ayanna Sharif (filmmaker/animator) entitled "Wudu." Inspired by Nina Simone's song Blackbird, the film centers on a woman who finds solitude in the forest as she prays and talks to God.
Prints will be for sale on opening day, April 3rd. Sales will be handled by Artists directly or call: 443.956.0323 or email: email@example.com.
Join us on Tuesday, April 3rd as we present Necessary Tomorrows: ReBirth | Perpetual Soul. Happy Hour 5-7pm with an opening reception from 7-8pm. The exhibition will be on view from April 3 - April 30. RSVP for your free ticket via Eventbrite.
