Ashtanga Yoga - Linda
Ashtanga Yoga is a spiritual practice built on a physical discipline focused on movement and breath. Using certain movements (vinyasa) and deep conscious breath (ujjayi breathing) the postures (asana) are linked together in a fixed sequence.
The Primary Series is the first sequence of postures that provide, if practiced, a base level of health: increase flexibility in the joints and muscles, detoxify the inner organs and strengthen the body and mind.
This is a led, counted class that will take you through half of the Primary Series. You don’t need to know the sequence, I will guide you through the postures and adjust you if necessary.
Linda: "My story is both ordinary and extraordinary. I discovered Ashtanga Yoga in a critical period of my life when I was in need for guidance and purpose. In the beginning I learned through online courses and yoga books and I was totally absorbed by the practice. After 2 years of self study, I finally met my teacher, Kino Macgregor. Her advice for me was to study with Sharath Jois, the grandson of Sri K. Pattabhi Jois (the founder of Ashtanga Yoga), which I had the blessing of doing last summer. It’s an honor to be able to share this magical practice with you. It can change your life."
