#WomenCrush Music is so excited to announce our very first showcase in Missoula, Montana hosted by our Missoula CL Camille Rose Perry!
5PM - Free - All Ages
5p - Natantha Walker
As far back as she can remember, Natantha Walker from Missoula, MT has had a deep love for music both as an admirer and a creator. Her sound resonates heavily with influences of Soul, Dream Pop, Blues, and folk. Through her lyrics, her songs touch base on the wide spectrum of human emotions and conditions, aiming to raise awareness about of the inequalities, injustices, and the various unspoken ugly truths within our society and world.
5:45p - Heather Lingle
Heather Lingle is a Montana-based, Texas-born singer/songwriter who has released three albums, including her 2018 release, Wild Blue. Heather is also a trained dancer and choreographer, which she utilizes in her music videos. She is active in community and children’s theatre in the areas of education, acting, directing, and voice coaching and has earned two theatre awards. She has also performed national radio jingles and television commercial voiceovers. She happily resides on the Continental Divide in Southwest Montana, over a mile high in the unpredictable Rocky Mountains.
6:30p - Complimentary Colors
Complimentary Colors is a folk duo out of the Northwestern US comprised of Camille Rose and Ashley Elizabeth. These two songbirds happened to fly in to each other’s paths one December day and, from their first date, began making music together. Having grown up in Montana and Indiana, respectively, these ladies call forth their folk and country roots with just a touch of the theatrical. Rather playing ukulele or other quirky instruments, Complimentary Colors brings harmony to the forefront as they draw from the songs of their youth.
7:15p - MudSlide Charley
Mudslide Charley (with featured female musician Lee Rizzo) is a Missoula, Montana born band that delivers heartfelt roots rhythm and blues. From its first sparks in 2004, the band continued to ignite and morph over the years into the now five piece powerhouse of diverse musicians and songwriters. The band performs inspired original tunes infused with vital relevance and emotional fervor. Their belting voices and fresh instrumentals exude a true reverence for the blues musicians who have paved their way. Using gritty electric guitar, elastic bass, chest thumping backbeat, rich soulful vocals punctuated by harmonica and saxophone, Mudslide Charley creates a musical atmosphere that rattles bones and loosens limbs.
Come and support local music! It's going to be a great time!
About WomenCrush Music:
#WomenCrush Music is a non-profit organization that serves to create opportunities for rising women songwriters by hosting international showcases, educational workshops & networking events. Whether they are just in the beginning of their careers and want to start performing at local venues, or they’ve just released their second album and are ready to go on tour. #WomenCrush Music wants to connect artists with future collaborators, educate them about the business and inspire them to make an impact on this male-dominated industry.
It was founded in January 2017, when Ashley Kervabon saw a need to build a stronger community amongst women in the music industry in Portland, OR. When the first showcase was a success, Ashley reached out to women in her online music communities to see if any other cities had ongoing showcase series for women artists. It was then that she realized there was a void that needed to be filled and she started her expansion by bringing the showcase series to her hometown of NYC. By fall of 2017 #WomenCrush had grown dramatically, including several new team members and many more new cities to launch in 2018, such as, Los Angeles, Chicago, Austin, New Orleans, Nashville, San Francisco, San Jose, Miami, Fort Lauderdale and Missoula! Follow them on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram to stay posted on their events at WomenCrush Music.
