Creativity is not something we either have or don’t. Creativity can be nurtured.
This one is for those looking to understand HOW and WHY variations are explored within and between asana, as well as those simply feeling uninspired by their self practice or by what they are teaching. As a community, we will build our own sequences derived from the traditional Sun Salutation through a logical series of playful prompts dissecting the textural and dimensional possibilities of movement and their corresponding trajectories. The matless nature of this creative process will disregard the confines of the mat to allow the organic unfolding of our movements through space. By following the natural lines and architecture of our individual bodies, we will learn to be guided by our instincts and inquiry to flow from a place for authenticity.
Ultimately, this workshop aims to share a foolproof toolkit which will empower us in confidently design personalised sequences with much greater intention and for self practice to never, ever be ‘boring’ again.
Open to all, but particularly useful for teachers interested in mindful creative sequencing.
