It’s springtime over here on our little patch of Texas.... a great time to kickoff our very first dye workshop! On Saturday, April 21, 2018, we will host “Indi-Goat”—>
An amazing day of indigo dyeing, with a “field trip” - roaming the range alongside the goats to gather local dye plants. Our wonderful instructor will be the talented @bluehighwayhanddyes.... Sarah will take us through the basics of indigo vat construction and dyeing with foraged materials, including bugs, roots, flowers and bark. Students will construct individual “starter” indigo vats for take home, using the organic fructose method. Our yarn base for the class will be a Texas rambouillet and mohair blend.... with maybe a bit of wool and mohair locks thrown into the dye pots! Over-dyeing will also be featured...how to create expanded and unique fiber palettes. Bring all your fiber and natural dye questions... get answers, tips, hints, tricks, while spending the day amongst fiber friends... and happy goats...!
