The new General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) goes live May 25 and will bring about the greatest change to data protection law in 20+ years.
Though a European regulation, GDPR applies to the collection and use of personal data of Europeans all around the world. Even if a business doesn’t have a physical presence in Europe, the regulation could still significantly impact them. Many U.S. businesses have not yet realized the major impact GDPR will have on the way they market and sell to their customers.
GDPR is already having a major impact on U.S. businesses, forcing changes to the way they handle personal information. GDPR is driving change throughout the world and companies (like we’ve seen recently with Facebook) must take significant action to update their practices.
This program will discuss cybersecurity and data privacy in the context of GDPR, emphasizing GDPR’s impact on U.S. businesses and what our clients need to do to be prepared.
This program includes 1.0 general CLE credit.
