FAQ:
I Have Never Done This Before – Is That OK?
It does not matter if you are new to lightsabers or have been rehearsing with them for years. Come to an open rehearsal and have a great time geeking out and working up a sweat.

What Goes On During A Rehearsal?
Our Lightsaber Training and Rehearsals generally consist of the following….

15-20 Minutes – Announcements
40 Minutes – Warm-ups, calisthenics and light cardio
45 Minutes – Basic or new lightsaber skill development
75 Minutes – Lightsaber choreography and presentations

What Do I Need to Bring?
You need to bring the most important thing – YOU! It’s also a good idea to bring workout clothes (sweatpants and a T-shirt are just perfect) and comfortable shoes. You don’t need a lightsaber to start off – there are always extra to go around. However, if you plan on coming frequently we can help you find one that is just right for you. OH and one more important thing: No toy lightsabers (if you don’t know what we mean, just ask). These things are cool and look great but they will break once you get going.

Cost is FREE but we may ask for a $5 donation to help cover the cost of the gymnasium.

ABOUT CAPITAL CITY JEDI KNIGHTS

Capital City Jedi Knights is a Central Pennsylvania-based not-for-profit, performance group, whose primary objective is to teach and perform choreographed stage combat lightsaber duels for conventions, community, and charity events. As of 2015 we have also become a Lucasfilm-recognized regional performance fan group! Free classes are held once a week in the Harrisburg area to anyone 17 or older, where one can learn how to safely choreograph a duel, utilizing techniques from the martial arts, theater, and even acrobatics, in a safe manner and environment, for fun, health, networking, and community support!

Many members are also members of the Rebel Legion and the 501st Legion - Lucasfilm-recognized, not-for-profit costuming fan groups that appear at fan conventions, charity events, sporting events and official Star Wars events around the world.

We are choreographers, dancers, actors, artists, costumers, filmmakers and photographers, all who volunteer our time to share our love of Star Wars with the community. Our focus is on lightsaber performance for stage and film.

We always welcome new members to train in the ways of the Force. We hold weekly rehearsals and occasional master sessions with guest instructors in stage combat, performance, martial arts and acting.
