A byproduct of the Manchester/Detroit connection. In 2008, as soon as the masterpiece "Working Nights" was released, the name Trus'me was on the tip of everyone's tongue. The grooving sounds of Detroit that have up to now been maintained by Moodymann and Theo Parrish have crossbred with that certain Mancunian essence to go on to produce track after track of dope sounds that have captured the hearts of DJs and fans worldwide.
It all started with the much reputed CD sampler “Nards” which was responsible for initialing releases on Chicago’s Still Music label. Seeing support from respected names such as Gilles Peterson, Ashley Beedle, Juan Atkins, and Chez Damier plus his productions selling out at record stores from Manchester to Tokyo, led to the highly successful release of his debut album, “Working Nights”, on Fat City Recordings, that’s hailed by most to be a timeless album, still finding devotees to this day.
Not one to rest on his laurels, the label Prime Numbers was set up and quickly gained an unfaltering reputation for highly collectable and exceptional music from artists such as Move D, Actress, Linkwood, Motorcity Drum Ensemble; all artists that fit the ethos and style that Trus’me continues to carry a torch for.
Trus’me has remixed LCD Soundsystem, Motor City Drum Ensemble, Alton Miller, Anthony Shake Shakir and more and has collarabated with artists such as Amp Fidler and Dam Funk, all while non-stop touring to clubs and festivals alike across Europe, Asia, Australia, Americas and of course, in his backyard, the
city of Manchester where it all began.
Whether he's doing disco, house or techno, Trus'me's pathway through music has been a joy to follow. Prime Numbers label boss is now based in Berlin and currently working on his fifth album due to release late this year. This album promises a return towards Working NIghts. Expect funk and soul heavy with his
signature openly groove-laced analogue sound.
