In this class series, we will explore some of the classical teachings from the Satipatthana Sutta, the four foundations of mindfulness, using the book from Venerable Analayo “Satipatthana: The Direct Path to Realization."
We will look at our practice of mindfulness meditation through the lense of liberating insight and the Buddha’s teachings, as well as applying these teachings in our daily life, allowing the Dharma to live through us and awaken insight and wisdom.
There will be time for longer meditation periods exploring the various foundations of mindfulness, Dharma talks, discussion, and experiential exercises and small group inquiry in class.
Participants will be strongly encouraged to meditate for at least 30 minutes daily to support the deepening of their understanding.
Recommended to students who have some meditation experience, such as the Basics of Mindfulness class or Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction.
