Research and best practices directly inform policy makers and those who seek to influence policy makers. Yet, it can also be used as a powerful tool to mobilize civic/business leaders and shape the dialogue surrounding the development of smart public policy for young children and their families. PCCY has a strong track record of advocating on behalf of Philadelphia and Pennsylvania’s youth and families.
Donna Cooper is the former Secretary of Policy and Planning for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. In this session, we will learn more about her impactful approach in promoting Pennsylvania’s education and health care policy and her more recent successes in her role as Executive Director of PCCY. Donna’s remarks will be followed by a panel discussion with local policy experts, focusing on how best practices can inform and complement existing Palmetto State Early Childhood policy initiatives, featuring:
- Naomi Torfin, Senior Director of Public Policy, United Way Association of SC
- Ansel Sanders of Public Education Partners, and
- John Concklin, Director of Impact Innovationof United Way of Greenville County.
- Moderator: Bryan Boroughs, Vice President of ICS
This event is graciously being sponsored by The Jolley Foundation and Greenville County First Steps.
