This workshop explores stop-motion animation, giving participants the tools to tell fun and personal stories. Working in teams, kids will get firsthand experience of the creative process behind making a short film using characters made of Play-Doh. They will design sets and sculpt characters, create a storyboard, and finally shoot a film.

As an added treat, there will be a screening of child-produced films made at ANIMAYO, an international film festival in the Canary Islands.

About the instructor: Damián Perea is an award-winning film and commercial director and producer. He is also the director and producer of the ANIMAYO International Film Festival located in the Canary Islands (Spain).

Learning outcomes:
• Fundamentals of stop-motion animation.
• Storytelling concepts, character development, and set design.
• Working as a team in a creative setting.

Friday, November 3rd is a CPS in-service day. Join us on your day off where the learning and the creativity continue through the varied languages of film.
