Communicating effectively with others can be challenging for children with an Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) diagnosis. They may struggle to express themselves, follow verbal instructions or engage appropriately in conversation with others.
This workshop will explore how children with an ASD diagnosis develop and use language and the challenges they may encounter. Parents will be provided with strategies to develop their child’s expressive and receptive language skills. Information will be provided about using visuals and other forms of Alternative and Augmentative Communication (AAC) to help children to communicate to their full potential.
This workshop is for parents, grandparents and carers only.
