Archaeology in the City presents the 2018 Woodland Heritage Festival at the J G Graves Woodland Discovery Centre, Ecclesall Woods. Join us for a full day of fun and frolics as we delve into the past together, and see what we can find...

Discover what might make you sick in the past, and how you might have been 'cured' in weird and wonderful ways;

Help us to delve into the recesses of beautiful, organic Neolithic cave art, and join us as we attempt to produce our own;

Investigate the mysterious Q-pits at the Discovery Centre; what are they, and why are they there?

Join in as we smelt iron, turn wooden tools, carve beautiful wooden bowls and spoons, and fire a hand-built ceramic kiln;

Stay a while for some medieval brewing courtesy of The Red Deer - Sheffield, and some not-so-medieval stonebaked pizza from Nether Edge Pizza Company;

... and watch out for our mischievous Mesolithic mates who may be roaming around the site... will you be invited to follow them as they explore the woods, marvelling at bread?!

Keep your eyes peeled for more information; for now, put 28th May in your diaries, and follow us online or email us to join our mailing list!
